Career Advisor – Job DescriptionRole Overview

A Career Advisor is responsible for guiding students and professionals in making informed career decisions. The role includes assessing individual interests, recommending suitable career paths, providing training/course guidance, and supporting them throughout their career development process.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to understand students' interests, skills, and career goals.
• Provide guidance on suitable courses, certifications, and career pathways.
• Assist students in creating career plans, resumes, and interview preparation strategies.
• Deliver career guidance workshops, seminars, and group counseling sessions.
• Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends, job market requirements, and new skill demands.
• Track student progress and offer ongoing support throughout their career development journey.
• Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student profiles in MIS/CRM systems.
• Collaborate with academic and placement teams to provide end-to-end career support.
• Follow up with students to ensure they are progressing with their career plans.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management review.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 1–3 years of experience in counseling, student guidance, or training advisory roles.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of job markets and emerging career opportunities.
• Ability to motivate and support students in setting and achieving career goals.
