CAD Technician - Piping

Must posses detailed knowledge and proven application in all general piping design / layout aspects and be conversant in materials of construction, insulation and installed instruments commonly used. Must posses a thorough understanding of common equipment and routing of all major process and utility piping in accordance with P&IDs and project standards.

The role will require working alone as well as part of a large cross disciplinary team, across different office locations so the successful candidate should be self-motivated and a strong communicator who works well with others.

• Must be a self- starter and proficient in the use of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D.


• 4 to 8 years of proven industry experience in either FEED and/or detailed design on Mining, Thermal Power, or Oil and Gas projects.


• Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.


• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.


• Autodesk AutoCAD certified user certification would be advantageous.


• An Engineering qualification is not essential but would be advantageous.


• Ability to self manage work in a fast-paced team environment.

BGV:

• Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification ( BGV ) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.


• Candidates are advised to ensure that all information provided during the recruitment process including documents uploaded is accurate and complete, both to WSP India and its BGV partner .

• Develop layouts, labelling, dimensioning, sheet layout, design details and other appropriate design concepts.


• Familiar with the relevant International Standards, and able to learn and understand client s standards and specifications.


• Read and interpret 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models to assist with investigations of engineering problems.


• Create and modify detailed engineering drawings using 2D/3D AutoCAD software packages based on information supplied by engineers and designers.


• Develop overall layouts, plot plans and Equipment & Piping Layouts based on client information and guidance of engineers.


• Capable of multi-tasking and managing multiple projects with the ability to accurately predict the time required to fulfil the individual scopes of work required.


• Assist with establishing, maintaining and enforcing the use of CAD standards in line with WSP procedures.


• Support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required
