Role Description

CAD Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design

  truck trailer frames, chassis structures, and structural sub-assemblies

• Develop parametric 3D models

  for multiple trailer variants and load categories
• Prepare

  fabrication-ready drawings

  , including weld details and assembly views
• Coordinate closely with

  production and fabrication teams

• Support design standardization

  for faster customization and repeat builds
• Implement continuous improvements based on

  shop-floor and field feedback

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in

  truck trailer, commercial vehicle, or heavy fabrication design

• Strong proficiency in 3D modelling

  (weldments, assemblies, drawings)
• Practical working knowledge of

  AutoCAD

  for shop and vendor drawings
• Solid understanding of

  steel sections, welding practices, and fabrication tolerances

• Ability to design with manufacturability, weight, and structural logic

  in mind
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in

  Mechanical Engineering

  or equivalent industry experience

Preferred Background

• Prior work with

  flatbed, container, tanker, tipper, or specialized trailers

• Experience working closely with fabrication and production teams

• Familiarity with load-bearing structures and trailer modularization

• Comfortable handling design changes driven by real manufacturing constraints
