Software Engineer II

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java, Kotlin, and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in at least one application tier: Frontend (Angular).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
• Experience in developing services and REST APIs.
• Strong grasp of unit testing practices and ability to write robust tests.
• Familiarity with Postgres DB and MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab and Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Kafka (or similar MQ technologies).
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Awareness of best practices in scalability, maintainability, performance, security, and usability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive learning mindset.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Independently design, code, test, and deliver platform components, features, and enhancements (Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot).
• Resolve defects and production issues with minimal support.
• Triage incoming bugs and incidents, ensuring timely solutions.
• Perform technical operation tasks, including building and enhancing monitoring capabilities.
• Participate in sprint grooming, planning, and kick-offs to provide effort estimates and technical insights.
• Conduct thorough unit testing to ensure code quality, covering edge cases, usability, and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and investigate platform issues, ensuring system stability and performance.
• Actively monitor production systems and raise alerts when necessary.
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional software development experience.
