Position: Buyer / Procurement Executive

Location: Mysore, Karnataka, India

Industry: Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS)

Job Summary:

The Buyer / Procurement Executive will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement of electronic components and materials required for production. This role involves working through the complete Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle, executing MRP-based planning, sourcing suppliers, maintaining inventory levels, and managing transactions in SAP ERP. Prior experience in an Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procure-to-Pay (P2P) Cycle

• Manage the complete P2P cycle, including PR review, PO creation, order follow-up, and invoice coordination.
• Track purchase orders for timely delivery and resolve any discrepancies in quantity, pricing, or documentation.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.

2. MRP & Material Planning

• Run and analyze MRP reports to determine component requirements.
• Convert MRP outputs into purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
• Ensure all materials are procured as per production schedules and demand forecasts.
• Coordinate with Planning and Production teams on material availability.

3. Procurement of Electronic Components

• Procure active, passive, mechanical, electromechanical components, PCBs, and consumables used in EMS production.
• Ensure components meet quality, technical, and compliance standards.
• Support engineering changes with timely component substitutions or new sourcing.

4. Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers for electronic components.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms with suppliers.
• Track supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality issues, responsiveness).
• Develop alternate sources to mitigate supply risk and reduce dependency.

5. Inventory & Material Control

• Monitor stock levels and maintain optimal inventory based on lead time, MOQ, and consumption.
• Work with Stores and Planning for cycle counts, stock reconciliation, and E&O (Excess & Obsolete) analysis.
• Prevent material shortages by proactively managing critical component availability.

6. SAP ERP Operations

• Create and manage purchase orders, scheduling agreements, and vendor updates in SAP.
• Ensure data accuracy in material master, vendor master, and procurement modules.
• Generate SAP-based procurement and inventory reports as required.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Management Graduate /Engineering Degree

• 45 years of experience as a Buyer or Procurement Executive in an EMS / Electronics Manufacturing environment (mandatory).

Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with

  SAP ERP

  (MM module preferred).
• Strong understanding of

  MRP, BOM structures, material planning, and procurement workflows

  .
• Knowledge of electronic components and EMS manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.

Soft Skills

• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Ability to handle pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
• Good vendor management and coordination skills.
