About The Role
Mead Johnson Nutrition is on the lookout for an experienced Buyer who will take charge of our factory procurement with precision and passion. In this strategic role, you'll be the cornerstone of shaping cost-effective sourcing strategies and nurturing supplier relationships that are as robust as our products. - Procurement management of RMPM (Raw Materials & Packaging Materials) categories for the manufacturing site.
- Assist in implementing the global strategy at the local level to deliver category objectives.
- Manage local delegated supplier relationships. Work closely with local stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements and provide procurement support for various departments and projects.
- Manage procurement activities for items delegated to local teams. Support the delivery of results in key performance areas, including financial performance (budget, forecast, NWC, productivity, PPV), service and quality to plants, and innovation capture.
- Participate in identifying and implementing initiatives to enhance procurement efficiency, effectiveness, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance for delegated and local categories, including contract signature and management, and provide support during audits. Lead the scorecard process.
- Interact with Global Direct Procurement Category leads to drive projects at plant level.
- Support vulnerability assessments on key supply/ value chain risks and propose contingency plans when necessary.
- Other areas of responsibilities can be defined based on the category.
- Within the scope of the overall manufacturing site, responsible for leading and implementing procurement-initiated projects:
- Negotiations with alternate suppliers.
- Re-scope the contract by interacting with cross-functional teams to bring in efficiencies.
- Internal & External benchmarks to identify & drive Synergy & Cost savings opportunities.
- Use e-tools like reverse auction (Ariba) to negotiate with suppliers.
- Contract management - negotiate the RB standard contract with suppliers with minimum deviation from the standard template & align the contract internally with legal & finance.
- Maintain a contract tracker to prompt at least 4-6mths in advance of a contract expiry so that proper tendering process is conducted before the contract renewal & various options (including re-scope) are explored.
- Work towards payment terms improvement to drive NWC benefits. Provide Project Team with procurement support on NPI/ NPD projects across the country & region.
- Ensure all suppliers comply with the regulatory requirements in the country & drive improvement programme for suppliers who do not comply & ensure 100% compliance.
The experience we're looking for
- Minimum bachelor's degree preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Business any other related field to Procurement and Supply Chain.
- Minimum of 3-4 years experience of Procurement and Project Management within an international or multi-regional context. Direct buying experience desirable.
- Ability to work in a truly global organisation. Proven experience working in a fast moving, results driven environment.
- Experienced in local and international Procurement, Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management.
- Possess high level negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to demostrate tenacity, tough-mindedness and able to effectively communicate in all levels of the organization.
