Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Identify, generate, and convert new business opportunities across Corporate, SME, and Affinity segments.
  • Meet and exceed monthly/quarterly sales and revenue targets.
  • Build a strong pipeline through cold calling, networking, industry events, referrals, and digital outreach.

2. Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, decision-makers, and influencers.
  • Understand client needs and recommend suitable risk & insurance solutions with the help of the placement/technical teams.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction, leading to renewals and higher wallet share.

3. Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Track market trends, competitor offerings, and pricing movements.
  • Identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities.
  • Share business forecasts and activity plans with management.

4. Coordination & Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with underwriting, claims, placement, and operations teams to deliver timely services.
  • Coordinate for quotes, proposals, documentation, and policy issuance.
  • Support clients with queries and ensure seamless servicing.

5. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all business activities comply with IRDAI guidelines and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, CRM updates, and reporting.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of General Insurance / Health Insurance / Employee Benefits / SME Insurance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong networking ability with corporates, SMEs, associations, and intermediaries.
  • High energy, self-motivated, and goal-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.

Educational Qualifications

  • Graduate or Postgraduate in any discipline.
  • Preferred: Insurance certifications such as

    BQP (Mandatory), Licentiate, Associate

    , or prior experience in insurance broking/insurance sales.
