Business Development Manager - Freight Forwarding Sales

As a Business Development Manager in freight forwarding sales, your role will involve leading and expanding the sales operations in Chennai within the shipping and logistics industry. Your primary responsibilities will be: - Developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets for air, sea, and surface freight services. - Identifying and acquiring new clients within the logistics and freight forwarding sector. - Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers to ensure high levels of satisfaction. - Preparing and presenting customized freight solutions tailored to client needs. - Negotiating rates, contracts, and service agreements with customers and vendors. - Coordinating with operations and documentation teams to ensure smooth shipment handling. - Monitoring market trends, competitor activities, and business opportunities. - Providing regular sales forecasts, reports, and updates to management. To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications: - Graduate in any discipline (MBA in Marketing/Logistics preferred). - 5-10 years of proven experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales. - Strong understanding of export/import operations, INCOTERMS, and customs regulations. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. - Self-driven, target-oriented, and able to work independently. - Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools.
