Business Development Manager (BDM) Water Resources

Role & responsibilities

Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) with a Water Industry or background. This role will focus on driving business growth through proposals, demos, contract management, and coordination for Govt organization of Water, Wastewater and Water Resources Industry along with Independent Consultants and large corporates. The ideal candidate should be able to manage client relationships, and track record of successful business development in water sector projects

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Development (BD) Activities

• Candidate to acquire new clients and projects for the company with a special focus on government clients
• Play a critical role in developing and securing new business while ensuring profitable growth
• Keep a tab on market pulse by active involvement in competition tracking and market studies
• Maintain effective customer relationships for long term association and business growth
• Maintain refined interaction and network with concerned government organizations
• Visit consultants, end-user customers in the territory to discuss business opportunities
• Assist the commercial team in negotiations and contract management
• Contribute to the company's perpetual growth by participating in innovation process.

• Demos and Trials - Demos & Trials Management

  :
• Engage with government clients to schedule and conduct demonstrations of new products and technologies.
• Ensure that all demos and trials meet customer expectations, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical presentations, gather feedback for continuous improvement.

Contract Management - Contacts and Negotiations

• Oversee and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, from initiation to execution, ensuring terms and conditions are met.
• Negotiate contract terms with government officials, Consultants and Corporates to secure favorable agreements.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders involved in the contract process, including legal, finance, and operations teams.
• Manage post-contract customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for contract renewals or expansions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Background

• Candidate should be from an Engineering Background (Civil/Mechanical/Electronics) or related field. A masters degree (Civil/Environmental) or MBA is preferred.

Experience

• 10-15 years of experience in business development in Water, Wastewater and Water Resources Industry
• Should be able to handle the client independently

Water Sector Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Water, Wastewater & Water Resources Industry from Consultancy perspective
• Knowledge of technologies like IoT,Smart Water Management, NRW, Smart Metering
• Should be well acquainted with Planning, Designing of Water, Wastewater& Water Resources

• Skills

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite,
