Job Description

As a Business Development Manager in the civil engineering industry, your primary responsibility will be to implement the recommendations of the strategic business development plan. You will conduct market research and analysis specific to civil engineering projects and sectors, evaluating operational challenges to ensure competitiveness and alignment with industry trends. Monitoring external and internal environments is crucial to identify new market segments for civil engineering services. You will also be responsible for developing and managing the business development budget and managing specific corporate programs related to civil engineering projects. Ensuring effective control of business development results and taking corrective actions to achieve objectives within allocated budgets will be part of your role. Directing sales forecasting activities and setting performance goals accordingly are essential tasks. Supporting and promoting the company's mission, vision, values, and ethical standards is a key aspect of this position. You will assist in planning events that highlight civil engineering capabilities and optimize the company's participation in relevant civil engineering trade groups and associations. Being involved in developing processes for gathering feedback from clients and stakeholders is important. Representing the company through public speaking engagements related to civil engineering, business development, and industry trends is also expected. Meeting with key clients, supporting sales representatives in maintaining relationships, and negotiating deals will be part of your responsibilities. Managing the entire RFP process and workflow for civil engineering projects is a crucial aspect of this role. The preferred candidate for this position should have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Business Development Manager in the civil engineering industry. Experience in preparing and reviewing RFQ (Request for Quotation) proposals is required. Strong relationships within the local market, particularly with developers, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities, are highly valued. A proven track record in identifying and securing civil engineering project opportunities is essential. Familiarity with Construction Management at Risk (CM at Risk) delivery method, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and being a strong team player with a professional demeanor and presentation are key qualifications.
