Job Description

Bidding & Tender Management

  • Opportunity Sourcing:

    Proactively identify and track utility-scale renewable energy project opportunities (Solar, Wind, Hybrid, BESS) through competitive tenders (RFPs, RFQs, Auctions) issued by central and state agencies (e.g., SECI, NTPC, state utilities).
  • Due Diligence & Strategy:

    Conduct thorough review and analysis of Request for Selection (RFS) documents, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and grid connectivity regulations. Develop and execute winning bidding strategies aligned with corporate financial and technical criteria.
  • Proposal Development:

    Lead the end-to-end preparation, coordination, and submission of high-quality, techno-commercial bids, working closely with Engineering, Legal, and Finance teams.
  • Clarifications & Negotiation:

    Manage pre-bid queries, attend pre-bid meetings, and support the negotiation and finalization of PPAs and other commercial contracts.

2. Financial Modeling & Commercial Analysis

  • Model Construction:

    Develop and maintain

    detailed project financial models

    (e.g., in MS Excel) for renewable energy projects (Project Finance Pro-forma) to determine commercial viability, optimal tariff/bid price, and investment returns. *
  • Investment & Risk Analysis:

    Calculate key return metrics such as

    Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Net Present Value (NPV)

    , and Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR). Perform extensive sensitivity and scenario analysis to assess investment risks (e.g., PPA termination, curtailment, delayed commissioning).
  • Pricing Strategy:

    Provide expert commercial inputs and financial recommendations to the senior leadership team for final bid approval.
  • Financing Support:

    Collaborate with the Finance team to structure project funding, including debt sculpting, capital stack optimization, and supporting due diligence for lenders and investors.

3. Market Intelligence & Stakeholder Management

  • Market Analysis:

    Monitor and analyze competitive landscapes, market trends, policy changes, and emerging technologies (e.g., green hydrogen, battery storage) in the renewable energy sector to identify new growth areas.
  • Policy & Regulatory:

    Maintain up-to-date expertise on power market regulations, open access policies, and grid connectivity frameworks. Liaise with regulatory bodies and industry forums for policy advocacy and compliance.
  • Relationship Building:

    Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders, including government officials, regulatory agencies, bidding authorities, financial institutions, and potential partners.
