Business Analyst

As a Senior Business Analyst - Accounting at EXL, you will play a crucial role in leveraging your expertise in accounting and finance to drive business decisions and enhance operational efficiency. You will be responsible for applying your in-depth knowledge of core accounting concepts, frameworks, and system data flows to provide actionable insights and solutions to complex business problems. Your contributions will directly impact client organizations in the insurance, healthcare, banking, capital markets, utilities, retail, e-commerce, travel, transportation, and logistics industries. **Key Responsibilities:** - Possess a strong understanding of debits/credits, trial balances, reconciliations, and journal entries. - Demonstrate awareness of how financial transactions flow into trial balances and reports. - Identify transaction types such as buy, sell, dividends, accrued interest, etc. - Apply knowledge of accounting frameworks (GAAP, IFRS) and their impact on reporting requirements. - Connect data flow across financial systems from security master, trade transactions, to ledger posting. - Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams in Agile environments. - Document requirements clearly, validate data flows, and perform reconciliation checks. - Utilize tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar backlog/requirements management tools. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 5 years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, or accounting/finance-focused roles within financial services. - Strong domain knowledge of accounting concepts and investment products. - Ability to clearly document requirements, validate data flows, and perform reconciliation checks. - Proven experience in liaising between business stakeholders and technology teams in Agile environments. - Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or similar backlog/requirements management tools. - Educational background in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. Professional certifications (CPA, CFA, CA, or equivalent) are preferred.
