Job Description

Position Overview

The Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for analyzing business needs, defining requirements, and facilitating communication between stakeholders and technical teams. The role focuses on understanding processes, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring successful implementation of business and technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis

  • Engage with stakeholders to understand business objectives and requirements.
  • Conduct interviews, workshops, surveys, and process reviews.
  • Analyze and document functional and non-functional requirements.

2. Process Mapping & Improvement

  • Develop process flows, user stories, and use cases.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation or optimization.
  • Recommend process improvements aligned with business strategy.

3. Solution Design & Documentation

  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Prepare BRDs, FRDs, user stories, wireframes, and workflow diagrams as needed.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and architects on solution design.

4. Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a bridge between business teams and IT/engineering teams.
  • Facilitate meetings, requirement walkthroughs, and decision-making discussions.
  • Manage expectations and ensure clarity throughout the project lifecycle.

5. Testing & Implementation Support

  • Develop test cases and assist QA teams during UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
  • Validate solutions, ensure they meet requirements, and support defect resolution.
  • Support implementation, rollout, and post-deployment training.

6. Reporting & Insights

  • Create reports, dashboards, and insights to support decision-making.
  • Track project progress, risks, and issues and communicate status to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, IT, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–6 years

    of experience as a Business Analyst (customizable by level).
  • Experience in requirement gathering, documentation, and process mapping.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Knowledge of tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Visio, Lucidchart, or similar.

Key Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting (Excel, SQL, BI tools preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in domain-specific environments (finance, telecom, healthcare, etc.).
  • Certification such as CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional environments
