Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Broadcast News Video Editor / News Editor based in Ahmedabad. The News Editor will be responsible for video production, video editing, video color grading, motion graphics, and graphics. The day-to-day tasks include editing broadcast news video content, ensuring quality and consistency, and collaborating with the team to produce engaging news content.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and produce high-quality

  news videos, bulletins, and feature stories

  , ensuring they meet editorial and technical standards.
• Transform

  2–3 hours of raw footage into concise 15–20 minute broadcast-ready packages

  .
• Collaborate closely with

  anchors, producers, and editorial teams

  to deliver engaging edits.
• Add

  motion graphics, lower-thirds, tickers, maps, subtitles, and infographics

  to enhance storytelling and meet newsroom requirements.
• Manage

  audio editing, VO sync, sound mixing, and background score

  for professional-quality output.
• Handle

  fast turnaround edits

  for live bulletins, breaking news, and prime-time shows under tight deadlines.
• Adapt content into

  short-form and long-form formats

  optimized for YouTube, Reels, Shorts, Twitter, and other digital platforms.
• Perform

  color correction, grading, and image adjustments

  to maintain consistency across all outputs.
• Coordinate with

  social media and design teams

  to create thumbnails, teasers, and promotional visuals.
• Maintain and organize

  raw footage, project files, and video archives

  for smooth newsroom workflow.
• Stay updated with the

  latest trends in video editing, digital storytelling, and newsroom technologies

  .

Key Skills & Competencies

• Expertise in

  Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects

  (broadcast workflow).
• Strong

  news sense, editorial judgment, and storytelling skills

  .
• Prior experience in

  TV News / Broadcasting industry is mandatory

  .
• Ability to edit long footage quickly without compromising on quality.
• Familiarity with

  newsroom automation systems & broadcast equipment

  is a plus.

• Excellent English communication skills

  (written & spoken).
• Knowledge of

  Hindi/Regional languages

  is an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in

  Journalism, Mass Communication, or Broadcasting

  .
• 2–4 years of

  newsroom/broadcast editing experience

  (TV channels or digital newsrooms).
• Strong command of English for editing and proofreading scripts with clarity.
