Job Description

The Box Office Staff is responsible for handling all ticketing-related activities at the cinema. This includes selling movie tickets, managing customer queries, handling cash transactions, and ensuring smooth guest service at the box office counter. The role requires excellent communication, accuracy, and a customer-friendly attitude.

Key Responsibilities:1. Ticket Sales & Operations

  • Handle movie ticket sales at the counter and assist guests with show details and seat selection.
  • Operate the ticketing system to process bookings, cancellations, and exchanges.
  • Ensure all transactions are accurate and follow company procedures.
  • Update show details, seat availability, and pricing in coordination with the Box Office Incharge.

2. Customer Service

  • Greet guests courteously and provide information about movies, timings, and ongoing offers.
  • Assist customers with online booking or QR ticket issues.
  • Handle customer complaints or queries professionally and escalate when necessary.
  • Maintain a positive and service-oriented attitude at all times.

3. Cash & Transaction Handling

  • Manage cash, card, and online payment transactions accurately.
  • Ensure correct billing and issue of receipts to customers.
  • Maintain end-of-shift cash reconciliation and handover reports.
  • Follow company cash handling and security protocols.

4. Coordination & Support

  • Coordinate with ushering, concession, and duty management teams for smooth operations.
  • Assist in managing crowd control during peak hours or movie releases.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization at the box office area.
  • Support promotional or marketing activities when required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 12th Pass / Graduate in any stream.
  • 0–2 years of experience in cinema, retail, or hospitality (freshers welcome).
  • Basic computer knowledge and familiarity with ticketing or POS systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Honest, punctual, and customer-focused attitude.
