Role Summary: As a Book Editor, you will be responsible for refining and enhancing manuscripts produced by our team of AI-assisted writers. Your primary goal is to ensure that each book meets exceptional editorial standards, engages readers effectively, and maintains consistent style, tone, and clarity. Additionally, you will oversee and approve the work of illustrators and designers, ensuring visual elements such as illustrations and book covers align with our editorial vision and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Review, edit, and proofread manuscripts generated through AI collaboration to ensure clarity, coherence, grammatical correctness, and readability. - Collaborate closely with writers to provide constructive feedback and guide narrative development. - Verify accuracy, consistency, and originality of content to maintain high-quality editorial standards. - Ensure manuscripts align with our publishing vision and market expectations. - Manage project timelines, ensuring manuscripts move efficiently through editorial stages to publication. - Oversee and approve the work of illustrators and designers, ensuring illustrations and cover designs complement and enhance the text. - Maintain communication with authors, illustrators, designers, and internal teams regarding project progress, revisions, and approvals. - Stay updated on publishing trends, market demands, and AI advancements relevant to content creation. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, or related field. - Proven editorial experience (2+ years preferred), ideally within a publishing house or editorial environment. - Exceptional skills in grammar, syntax, style consistency, and storytelling techniques. - Experience with or strong interest in working with AI-generated content. - Ability to effectively manage multiple manuscripts simultaneously and meet deadlines. - Strong collaborative and communication skills to provide constructive, actionable feedback. - Be a voracious reader yourself Preferred Skills: - Familiarity with AI writing tools and platforms. - Proficiency with editorial software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Grammarly, Scrivener). - Passion for innovation in publishing and exploring new narrative techniques.
