We at Meclusions are looking for 1 to 3 years experienced (Freshers may also apply) 3D Modeler

We are seeking a talented and versatile Blender 3D Modeler to join our ambitious film production team. This is a crucial role where your creative eye and technical expertise will directly shape our film's visual identity. We are a project-based studio that values efficiency and innovation, building our pipeline around cost-effective, powerful, open-source tools. We need a generalist who is not only a master of Blender but also understands the full 3D production pipeline.

You will be responsible for creating all digital assets—from characters and props to environments—that are optimized for our unique, streamlined workflow. Your work will directly impact the film's aesthetic and our ability to maintain a quick production pace. This is a unique opportunity to be a key artistic contributor and problem-solver in a small, passionate team.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality 3D models of characters, props, and environments based on provided concept art and design briefs.
  • Ensure all models have clean topology, proper UV mapping, and are optimized for efficient rendering and simulation downstream.
  • Collaborate closely with the Technical Director and other artists to ensure seamless integration of assets into our Blender-to-Unreal Engine pipeline.
  • Iterate on models based on feedback from the director and lead artists, maintaining a consistent artistic vision.
  • Problem-solve and adapt to new techniques and workflows, especially those involving procedural and AI-assisted methods.

BLENDER:- Artist who is really pro at Blender will be given utmost preference ( Kowing other softwares will be addon weightage)

We are only looking for Mumbai Based artist, Others who fall from other than Mumbai area must avoid applying, untill you are planning to shift to Mumbai.

Blender + AI combo will be the most preferred by Team Meclusions

Nature of Work:

The work of a Blender 3D Modeler for our film is a blend of traditional artistic skill and modern technical know-how.

  • Artistic Execution: You will translate 2D concepts and sketches into high-quality 3D assets. This involves sculpting organic forms for characters, creating precise hard-surface models for props, and building large-scale environments. Your work must have a strong sense of form, proportion, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Technical Mastery: You will not just be building models; you will be building them for a purpose. This means understanding proper topology to ensure models deform correctly when rigged, and meticulously UV mapping them for texturing. You will be thinking about optimization from the start, knowing that your assets must perform well in the Unreal Engine for real-time rendering.
  • Pipeline Integration: Your models are the foundation for every other department. You will be responsible for preparing and exporting clean models that can be easily rigged by the animator, textured by the surfacing artist, and lit by the lighting artist. You will work closely with the TD to ensure your work fits into the technical specifications of the pipeline.
  • Efficiency and Resourcefulness: As a lean studio, we value artists who can find clever solutions. This might involve using Blender's Geometry Nodes for procedural asset creation, or leveraging free online resources to save time. Your ability to create a lot with a little is what makes you invaluable.

Softwares:

  • Blender (Primary): Deep expertise is required, including proficiency in:
  • Modeling: Subdivision modeling, box modeling, and hard-surface modeling.
  • Sculpting: Digital sculpting for high-detail organic models.
  • Geometry Nodes: For procedural modeling and asset generation.
  • UV Editing: Meticulous UV unwrapping and packing for efficient texturing.
  • Secondary Software (Knowledge is a bonus):
  • Autodesk Maya/3ds Max: Basic familiarity with these industry-standard packages is a plus, especially for understanding different production workflows.
  • Substance Painter/Designer: Essential for texturing models.
  • Unreal Engine: A strong understanding of how to import models into UE, including proper scale, material setup, and optimization for real-time performance.
  • ZBrush: For high-end sculpting and detailing.

Office Location: Goregaon West - Mumbai

Work Experience: 12 to 36 Months ( We are open for Freshers too)

Skillset:

  • Form & Anatomy: A keen eye for form, proportion, and human/animal anatomy is essential for character modeling.
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to meticulously craft and polish every aspect of a model, from large shapes down to small details.
  • Conceptualization: The ability to translate abstract ideas and 2D concepts into a 3D reality.
  • Topology Mastery: You must be able to create clean, efficient quad-based topology that deforms well and is easy to work with.
  • Optimization: A strong understanding of polycount management, LODs (Levels of Detail), and other optimization techniques for a real-time pipeline.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to diagnose and fix technical issues related to geometry, normals, and UVs.
  • Communication: The ability to take and apply constructive criticism and clearly communicate your process to the team.
  • Time Management: Working efficiently to meet deadlines and manage multiple assets simultaneously.
  • Adaptability: An eagerness to learn new tools and workflows, especially those that save time and resources.

Salary: It will be decided as per your expertise and skillset (This will be discussed on teleconic conversation or on personal interview at our studio)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher, Internship, Freelance
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: ₹7,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
