Who are we looking for:

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant who can support the effective functioning of the biology laboratory. The ideal candidate should be capable of preparing laboratory materials, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, assisting students during experiments, operating and maintaining lab equipment, managing inventory, reporting malfunctions, and ensuring proper disposal of biological waste. A proactive, organised, and safety-conscious approach is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare laboratory equipment, reagents, cultures and specimens for experiments.
• Assist in conducting biological experiments and demonstrations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the lab before and after experiments.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Maintain inventory of lab supplies and place orders when needed.
• Assist students with lab procedures.
• Report equipment malfunctions.
• Report malfunctions of other electronic items (fan/light).
• Dispose of biological waste according to safety guidelines.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, microbiology, biotechnology, chemistry/science background.
• High school diploma with Biology /Chemistry.
• Basic laboratory techniques.
• Record-keeping and data entry.
• Knowledge of chemical handling.

Additional Information:

• Job location is in Chetpet, Chennai. This is an on-site and full-time position.
• School timings are from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm.
