As a Backup Administrator at our company, you will be responsible for managing enterprise data protection infrastructure, specifically focusing on Veritas NetBackup. Your role will involve installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of backup systems in a complex environment. Key Responsibilities: - Perform installation, configuration, and administration of Veritas NetBackup. - Handle regular system maintenance, including incident resolution, patch management, and change implementation. - Troubleshoot backup failures and take corrective actions to ensure job completion. - Perform complex backup scheduling and maintenance across OS, database, and middleware environments. - Integrate and manage Veritas Enterprise Vault and Data Domain appliances. - Configure and troubleshoot SAN Client backup (Fiber Transport). - Manage SLP (Storage Lifecycle Policies) and Vault configurations. - Execute upgrades and patching of backup servers. - Integrate NetBackup with Oracle, SQL, VMware, and Replication Director. - Perform Backup/Restore/DR operations for UNIX, Windows, and Database environments. - Manage internal NetBackup databases and ensure data integrity. - Maintain a strong understanding of TCP/IP concepts and SAN Infrastructure & Architecture. - Good exposure to CommVault: IntelliSnap, Oracle integration, Hyperscale appliances, and data aging. - Work with reporting tools such as NetBackup OpsCenter, IT Analytics, and CommVault Reporting Server. - Prepare and customize backup reports using Excel and PowerPoint. Technical Skills Required: - Veritas NetBackup (Core, Enterprise Vault, Data Domain). - CommVault Integration (optional). - SAN Infrastructure and Backup Architecture. - Oracle, SQL, VMware backup and restore. - Scripting knowledge (nice to have). - Reporting tools: OpsCenter, IT Analytics, CommVault Reports. - Good understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, etc.). Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in IT/CS or equivalent. - Veritas or CommVault certification preferred.
