Auxiliary Engineer / Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

Under limited supervision to working independently, perform   engineering assignments to design and develop Boiler auxiliaries( like fans, soot blowers, ESP, SCAPH, Hoists    etc.) for supercritical boiler projects.  

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

1. Design, analyze and/or evaluate specific engineering requirements.   Develop basic sketches and/or 

directions for various applications as required.

1. Obtain and develop data for and prepare specifications, test procedures, safety reports and purchase-related documents.
2. Review, analyze, and report on supplier, architect-engineer and consortium partner drawings and proposals and make recommendations on specific technical areas.
3. Consult with appropriate engineering functions to insure design criteria is suitable for the application and advise those concerned of changes required. 
4. Prepare or lead the preparation of technical documents. 
5. Assist less experienced engineers and technicians on specific technical problems.
6. Carry out basic economic studies for bid purposes.
7. Participate in various internal meetings  
8. May perform lead function in achieving engineering schedule, hours and technical quality.  Prepare instructions and supplemental information for lower level engineers.
9. Identify and process changes that impact contract margin.
10. Engage in domestic and/or international travel as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED (Minimum formal academic requirements; amount and type of job-related experience; special skills and competencies).

• Mechanical discipline with 6 to 10 years engineering experience in Boiler auxiliary equipment  design and engineering of fossil fuel steam generators.
• Experience in working 3D environment (PDS/PDMS) is  an added advantage .Knowledge on various national and international codes related to Boiler auxiliary equipment is essential. 
• Working knowledge of PC-based word processing, spreadsheet, database, and engineering program applications.
