Automotive Seating Frame Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Create

  3D models

  and

  2D drawings

  of seating frames and structural components using

  CATIA V5/V6

  .
• Design

  metal structures

  , including tubular, stamped, and welded assemblies for seat frames.
• Conduct

  packaging studies

  ensuring compliance with occupant space, ergonomics, and overall vehicle architecture.
• Work closely with

  CAE, Manufacturing, Quality, Purchasing

  , and other crossfunctional teams for design optimization.
• Prepare and maintain

  engineering documents

  , BOM, and design reports.
• Apply

  DFMEA

  ,

  DFM/DFA

  , and best design practices.
• Perform

  tolerance stack-up analysis

  and apply

  GD&T

  for critical interfaces.
• Support

  prototype build activities

  and coordinate with suppliers to ensure manufacturability.
• Ensure all designs comply with

  safety regulations

  ,

  OEM standards

  , and

  regulatory requirements

  .
• Handle

  engineering changes

  and manage design releases using

  PLM systems

  like Enovia/Teamcenter.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in

  Mechanical Engineering

  /

  Automotive Engineering

  .

• 35 years

  of hands-on experience in

  Automotive Seating

  or

  Interior/Structural Components

  .
• Strong experience in

  CATIA V5/V6

  is mandatory.
• Good understanding of

  metal structures

  ,

  welded assemblies

  , and

  seating mechanisms

  .
• Knowledge of

  GD&T

  ,

  DFMEA

  ,

  DFM/DFA

  , and tolerance stack-up.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with global automotive OEM or Tier1 suppliers.
• Familiarity with

  PLM tools

  like Enovia or Teamcenter.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Good communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
