Overview COMMODITY BUYER - Injection Moulding Parts Responsibilities Job Summary: The Commodity Buyer will be responsible for the strategy and execution of his/her commodity to meet corporate goals in supply base management, cost reduction, supplier reduction, and quality improvement and part consolidation. One of the primary responsibilities of this position is to develop and implement cost reduction opportunities and building a strategic supply base. Strong emphasis will be on meeting metrics, implementing cost reduction strategies while coordinating business relationships and agreements with major suppliers. The Commodity Buyer will create the supply base strategy and coordinate efforts with the program buyer to ensure supply base strategy is being followed. In general, the Commodity buyer will manage his/her commodities from 90 days after SOP through end of life while also managing the overall supply base strategy in addition to the responsibilities listed above. This position will report to the purchasing manager. Duties and Responsibilities: Executes negotiation of commodities; works independently with minimal supervision, exercising discretion, judgment, and professionalism in all tasks. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers through regular communication, performance reviews, onsite visits. Lead and resolve commercial issues with the supply base. Work proactively to solicit ongoing coordination and cooperation in driving cost down, while managing commodity deck P&L. Helps to manage supplier score cards. Maintains supplier purchase orders and NDA(Non Disclosure Agreement). Close coordination with various departments and Department Managers and Supervisors as required. Understands Supplier Market situation and forecasts the impact to the supply chain. This will involve understanding the requirements and driving various software development life cycle activities like design, development and testing. Responsible for performance appraisal, career development, mentoring and coaching of team members. Responsible for delivering software releases for new products and enhancing existing products. Stakeholder management with cross functional teams Apply expert knowledge to develop system, architecture and module design. Apply expert knowledge to develop multithreaded application software using C language for an embedded Linux system. Design and develop modular applications and libraries. Identify and suggest improvements for products and its quality. Work on new product development, new technology initiatives & productivity improvements. What you will bring: Experience in people management of 10+ members. Experience in managing cross functional stakeholders. Experience in release planning and executions. Experience in design and development of an Embedded Systems. Expert knowledge in developing modular application software using C for an Embedded Linux system. Experience in writing multithreaded application software s and libraries for Embedded Linux system. Good knowledge of Hardware/Software interfaces and reading schematics. Experience in communication interfaces like CAN, RS232, I2C, SPI, Bluetooth/BLE & GSM AT Commands. Experience in standard automotive communication protocols like J1939. Experience in using various tools like static code analysis, run time debugging tools like GDB & memory debugging tools like Valgrind. An innovative approach to improve processes and solve problems. Good working knowledge in agile-based product development methodology. Effective communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in Telematics domain is an added advantage. A degree in engineering with 12+ years of experience in embedded software development.

Minimum 4 years of professional experience in the design of electromechanical relays ideally in Railway but could be automotive, aerospace or other similar industry. Competencies Professional /Personal Design of electromechanical relays / electromagnetic devices, Low voltage switchgear products Mechanical CAD design using CREO, Solidworks, Inventor or similar tools. Electrical design using Autocad Electrical or similar tools. Design for RAMS Reliability / MTBF assessments, Design FMEA, Process FMEA, Functional Failure Analysis Experience of working to EN61508 / EN50126 Design of injection molded enclosures / covers. Design for automated manufacture. Design for additive manufacture. Knowledge of materials sciences including magnetics. Experience using electronic design and PLM tools such as Teamcenter for document control, drawing control, requirements management and engineering change control. Proven experience in delivering high quality product designs with comprehensive understanding of project management principles. Sound understanding of the product design process including testing and validation. Role Summary/Purpose The job has the responsibility for leading designing Locomotive Vehicle Control that meet the customer requirements, cost & reliability expectations. It includes defining system level requirements, preparing test plans & performing system validation, lead and participate in Design reviews and make technical decisions. Lead and drive culture of quality and technological refinement to existing designs. Essential Responsibilities Design and develop Train Control and Vehicle Control for Locomotives. Lead / Participate in product conceptual designs and concept trade off analysis. Define sub-system design requirements and interfaces for various control systems for the locomotive including Air Brake, Event Recorder, Protocol Translator, Signaling, Trainline control, On-board monitoring , diagnostics applications, AESS, Master Controller and Control Integration, Human Machine Interface(HMI) for locomotive, suitable for application in both English and non-English speaking environments Interact with locomotive system, sub-systems, component teams to define and document traction system requirements and interfaces. Develop Model as per design requirement and carryout desktop simulations to verify the design. Develop Validation plans and perform system validation. Provide designs that are robust, that meet cost and reliability targets. Conduct Simulator testing and later participate in locomotive testing to validate traction control as required. Lead Design reviews; make presentation and status reports to Senior Management. Must be willing to work on high horsepower and high voltage equipment s. Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements Work with cross-functional & global teams to meet project objectives Qualifications/Requirements Bachelors / Masters degree in Electrical/Electronics/Control system Engineering. 8-15 years experience in Engineering in similar/relevant field. Hands on experience with the design and development of control algorithms in a relevant field. Experience on including Human Machine Interface (HMI), Trainline control, On-board monitoring , diagnostics applications, AESS, Master Controller and Control Integration Good working knowledge on usage of MATLAB, Simulink/Stateflow or similar tools. Proven analytical, interpersonal, communication, organization, planning and leadership skills. Process focus and continuous improvement orientation. Desired Characteristics 8-15 years experience working as Vehicle Control engineer in Locomotive/Automotive/Defense or similar domains Have a strong understanding of the Control system and real time system architecture designs. The ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks Being innovative, need to find new ways to improve the designs and sometimes challenge current ways of working Strong problem solving, business and analytical abilities Experience in working in cross-functional environment.
