You work closely with software development teams to identify test scenarios, create test scripts, and execute automated tests. Here are some key responsibilities and skills associated with being an automation testing professional : Responsibilities : Test Strategy and Planning : Collaborate with the development team to define the test strategy and plan for automated testing. Test Script Development : Create automated test scripts using appropriate tools and programming languages. Test Execution : Execute automated tests to verify the functionality, performance, and stability of software applications. Test Maintenance : Maintain and update automated test suites to accommodate changes in the software under test. Defect Tracking : Identify, report, and track defects in collaboration with the development team. Test Reporting : Generate test reports and communicate test results to stakeholders. Skills : Programming : Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript is essential for developing automated test scripts. Test Automation Tools/Frameworks : Familiarity with popular automation tools/frameworks like Selenium WebDriver, Appium, TestNG, JUnit, or Robot Framework. Test Management Tools : Experience working with test management tools like Jira, TestRail, or HP ALM to track test cases, manage test execution, and report defects. Version Control Systems : Knowledge of version control systems like Git or SVN for managing test code repositories. Test Design and Execution : Strong understanding of test design techniques, test case creation, and test execution processes. Problem- Solving : Ability to analyze complex scenarios, troubleshoot issues, and propose solutions.
