Authorization Specialist

The Authorization Specialist is responsible for obtaining, verifying, and documenting insurance authorizations to ensure timely reimbursement and smooth patient care delivery. This role is critical in minimizing denials and supporting the overall revenue cycle process.

• Review patient schedules and identify services requiring prior authorization.
• Contact insurance providers to secure approvals for medical procedures, diagnostics, and hospital admissions.
• Document authorization details accurately in the system.
• Collaborate with clinical staff, physicians, and patients to gather necessary information.
• Track pending authorizations and follow up proactively to avoid delays.
• Work with the billing team to resolve authorization-related denials.
• Maintain compliance with payer policies and HIPAA regulations.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Min.1 years of prior authorization or RCM experience.
