ADVERTISEMENT No.06/2025 Name of Post: Astronomy Education Assistant - Pune Zilla Parishad Project.

• Pay / Remuneration: Consolidated salary of Rs. 30,000/- p.m

• Duration: One year (Purely on Contract Basis)

• Age Limit: 35 years.

• Qualification & Experience:

Essential: First class B.Sc. (Physics/Astronomy/Mathematics) or B.E. (M.Sc. / Ph.D. desirable).

Skills: i) Good science and astronomy knowledge, ii) Ability to cheerfully communicate about Science in English,

Hindi, and Marathi (fluency expected in both written and verbal), iii) Computer skills, including proficiency in

using Office and standard design/layout software, iv) Good social and management skills with a creative mindset

and positive scientific attitude.

Experience: i) Some experience in Science popularization involving teachers and school students. ii) Familiarity

with different educational and cultural environments as well as N.E.P. and Maharashtra state board school syllabus,

iii) Experience in educational material creation.

• Duties & Responsibilities:
• Creating teacher/student consumable content relevant to the project. Helping conduct Science Education and

Astronomy events for school students and teachers.

• Design, layout, and illustration of customised student and educator material for a compilation of about 30

activities developed at IUCAA Scipop for astronomy outreach in schools

• Coordinating translation of the material to Marathi

• Assist in the evaluation of the pedagogical utility of the material

• Creation of open source question bank of 500 questions based on SSC syllabus, as well as content relevant to

middle and high school students

• Coordinating the planned Science Education and Astronomy outreach events for school students and teachers.

• Scheduling any required extra school visits along with other special exposure camps

• Documentation of the project via photo collection and written reports/website updates

• NOTE: -

• The candidate is expected to be present for all events, including those on weekends. The candidate has to be
