Lead / Assistant Manager - Project Management & Process Compliance

The primary purpose of this position is to lead Project governance and Project management. Project governance at Company's R&D includes setting up the process, rules, procedures, and policies that determine how projects are managed and overseen. Project planning and project documentation that follows every project management phase from project initiation to closure and resource allocation. Project Management that organizes stage gate review, conducts project review meetings, reviews risk and takes measures to ensure project success, delivers project at defined cost and time, and provides MIS to management.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, coordinate, and manage internal group resources for the flawless execution of Group R&D projects.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within the allocated budget.
• Assist in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with internal stakeholders, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with organizational goals.
• Ensure resource availability and appropriate allocation for project needs.
• Optimize the utilization of internal resources, ensuring efficiency across all project activities.
• Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification and control techniques.
• Track project performance using project management tools and techniques to measure the successful completion of short and long-term objectives.
• Prepare and present comprehensive project reports for senior management, highlighting progress, risks, and financial status.
• Escalate issues to the Director of R&D or other relevant stakeholders when required.
• Perform risk management to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks across various stages of the project lifecycle.
• Proactively address any challenges to minimize the impact on project timelines or outcomes.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, risk logs, and issue resolution documents.
• Use advanced project management tools like spreadsheets, dashboards, diagrams, and process maps to streamline operations and document critical workflows.
• Continuously develop leadership and project management skills to stay aligned with industry standards and best practices.
• Develop comprehensive project plans and share them with internal stakeholders, ensuring transparency and regular updates on progress and any modifications.
• Act as the central point of contact between internal teams and management, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology, or related

• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably in a Research & Development or technical environment.

• Strong understanding of project management principles, tools, and techniques (PMI certification preferred).

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello).
• Demonstrated experience in budget management, resource planning, and risk management.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholders at various levels.
