Asst. Manager Vendor Development For Gurgaon

The Vendor Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing vendors for fabricated, machined, and sheet metal components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors for fabrication, machining, and sheet metal components.
• Conduct vendor audits to assess technical capability, quality systems, and capacity.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for key categories (fabrication, sheet metal, laser cutting, bending, welding, powder coating, etc.).
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through alternate sourcing, value engineering, and process optimization.
• Negotiate commercial terms, lead time, and payment terms with vendors.
• Monitor supplier performance on key parameters: cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for supplier audits, process validation, and continuous improvement.
• Review and analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, and specifications to understand material, process, and quality requirements.
• Source cost-effective suppliers while ensuring quality and compliance with company standards.
• Coordinate with design, quality, and production teams for prototype development and validation.
• Monitor vendor performance based on quality, cost, and delivery metrics; drive continuous improvement.
• Support cost reduction and localization initiatives for fabricated and sheet metal parts.
• Work closely with Design, Production, and Quality teams for prototype and sample development.
• Support New Product Development (NPD) projects by identifying capable vendors for new parts.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of fabrication, machining, welding, and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
• Good knowledge of raw materials (MS, SS, CRCA, HR sheets, etc.) and surface treatments (powder coating, painting, plating).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of quality standards (ISO, IATF) and inspection techniques.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and documentation.
