Job Description

Job Summary

The Associate Server is responsible for supporting day-to-day administration, monitoring, and maintenance of server infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance. The role involves assisting in server deployments, patching, troubleshooting, and providing technical support to internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Server Administration

Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows/Linux servers.
Monitor server performance, availability, and resource utilization.
Manage user access, permissions, and system configurations.
Support server patching, updates, and routine maintenance activities.

Troubleshooting & Support

Identify and resolve server-related issues (hardware, OS, network, application).
Respond to incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
Escalate complex issues to senior administrators or vendor support as required.
Document issues, resolutions, and standard procedures.

Backup, Security & Compliance

Support backup and restoration activities using enterprise backup tools.
Assist in implementing security policies, antivirus, and OS hardening guidelines.
Monitor logs for unusual activity and assist in audits and compliance checks.

System Monitoring & Optimization

Use monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Grafana, etc.) to track system health.
Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
Support capacity planning and hardware utilization reviews.

Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with network, storage, and application teams for cross-functional issues.
Prepare periodic reports on server health, uptime, and preventive actions.
Participate in shift operations (24/7 support model if required).
