Associate Manager, Applications Engineering

Role Overview: You will lead the Custom Interfaces and Applications Team to estimate, design, develop, and implement custom software solutions for AspenTech, DGM utility customers. These solutions will provide an interface between AspenTech DGM standard products and 3rd party systems as needed by the customer, including custom features not available in standard software packages. Key Responsibilities: - Qualify, assign, prioritize, and allocate appropriate resources for company custom interface and application projects. - Hire and onboard new employees, focusing on retaining key talent. - Be accountable for continuous improvement of team processes and automation. - Establish annual performance goals and plans for team members. - Evaluate team members based on performance goals and plans. - Design and implement software solutions tailored to customer-specific needs. - Confluence technical information and ensure accuracy. - Organize and lead design workshops with customers. - Prepare detailed design documents outlining proposed solutions to meet customer requirements. - Conduct design and code reviews to ensure completeness, accuracy, and quality. - Provide technical mentorship within the team and as a technical leader. - Document and share knowledge to support technical development of team members. - Support Sales by offering custom interface and application discovery and labor estimates during the sales process. Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field. - 3 years of experience in project engineering, power systems engineering, or development. - Ability to travel at least 25%. - Strong leadership, organizational, project management, written, oral, and presentation skills. - Solid interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration at various organizational levels. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and technical writing. - Experience as a people leader. - Knowledgeable about electric power generation, transmission, and distribution. - Expertise in areas such as electric utility operations, control systems, automation, client/server applications, APIs, web services, network communications, operating systems, algorithms, SQL, and other database technologies. - Familiarity with Git for software development and common interfacing technologies like HTTP/S, web service development, middleware, and Apache Camel.,
