Job Description

Role Overview: As an Associate at Ares, you will work closely with the Alternative Credit Product Management and Investor Relations Team to provide valuable information and expertise on firm strategies and funds to clients. Your primary responsibilities will include producing fund reporting for investors on a monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc basis, as well as assisting in creating new client materials and updating existing communications with market and fund-specific data. To excel in this role, you must have a strategic mindset, strong analytical abilities, and excellent writing skills. You should be a conceptual thinker, creative, articulate, and capable of conveying complex concepts effectively. Your exceptional execution and organizational skills, coupled with sound judgment and ethical values, will be crucial for success. Key Responsibilities: - Utilize strong quantitative and analytical skills to interpret portfolio data, track key investment metrics, and synthesize information into clear, investor-ready materials and reports - Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Excel and other relevant tools (e.g., Power BI) to create, maintain, and enhance investor reports accurately and clearly - Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders in a professional manner - Manage multiple tasks with attention to detail, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure - Be a highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic - Develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of individuals, including institutional and retail investors, consultants, and internal Ares constituents - Collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment and demonstrate an outgoing and inclusive working style - Display a high energy level within a culture of intensity, accessibility, and availability - Preferred knowledge of the alternative credit industry, including banking/structuring, investment, portfolio management, and/or marketing experience Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field with exposure to accounting or corporate finance - Experience: 3-5 years of experience in investor relations or a product specialist role, or a background in credit with interest in transitioning to an investor relations focused role in Alternative Credit - General Requirements: Detail-oriented, excellent oral and written communication skills, computer literacy, self-starter with exceptional communication and organizational skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook - Experience at a financial services firm is preferred Please note that there is no set deadline to apply for this job opportunity.
