As an Associate Engineer - Digital & Drw Mgmt, your role involves supporting Shell s Downstream Operating Units (OUs) by updating and maintaining 2D and 3D engineering drawings. Your primary responsibility is to incorporate redline markups and Management of Change (MOC) updates into existing drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation. This is a drafting-focused role, not a design engineering position. While technical understanding is beneficial, the day-to-day work is centred around drawing updates and version control - not detailed design or engineering calculations.
What you ll be doing
- Interpret and incorporate redline markups and MOC updates into existing electrical and instrumentation drawings.
- Maintain drawing version control and ensure updates are accurately reflected in the drawing management systems.
- Work primarily with AutoCAD and MicroStation tools; occasional use of SPI/SPEL may be required.
- Understand and work with various drawing types such as P&IDs, SLDs, cable schedules, grounding layouts, and panel drawings.
- Ensure compliance with Shell and industry standards for drawing quality and documentation.
- Collaborate virtually with global stakeholders to clarify updates and ensure timely delivery.
- Support drawing audits and quality checks as needed.
What you bring
- Bachelor s Degree in Electrical-related Engineering with at least 2+ years of professional experience in Electrical Drawing & Drafting/CAD
- With hands-on experience in comprehending and updating electrical drawings such as P&IDs, Electrical Equipment Schedules, and 2D/3D layouts using AutoCAD/MicroStation. Familiarity with SPI/SPEL is a plus.
- Understanding of electrical design principles and ability to interpret engineering inputs for accurate drafting.
- Strong proficiency in 2D drafting using AutoCAD and MicroStation is essential. Experience with 3D tools is a value-add but not a core requirement.
- Basic proficiency in PC applications (e.g., MS Office, Internet, Email).
- Strong communication skills in English (oral and written).
- Experience in Oil & Gas, Power, or related industries is highly preferred.
