Associate Editor, Discover Journals (Environmental Science / Environmental Engineering)

As an Associate Editor at Springer Nature Group, you will play a crucial role in supporting Journal Editors and Editorial Board Members (EBMs) to ensure rapid and high-quality peer review and publication. Your responsibilities will include assessing manuscripts for compliance with editorial policies, inviting appropriate peer reviewers, managing the peer review process, recommending editorial decisions, liaising with EBMs, and providing manuscript consultation. Additionally, you will work on identifying and resolving difficulties in reaching editorial decisions and supporting the development of journals and ad hoc projects. The ideal candidate for this role will have a PhD-level research experience in Environmental Science/Environmental Engineering, a thorough understanding of the scientific research community, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a keen interest in science. You should be highly self-motivated, resourceful, and achievement-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, workload management, and organizational skills.
