Assistant Storekeeper

Key Responsibilities

• Receive incoming goods, inspect deliveries for quantity, quality and accuracy against purchase orders or delivery notes.
• Store items in designated locations in the warehouse or storeroom, ensuring correct labeling, rotation (FIFO / FEFO as applicable), safe handling.
• Issue stock to departments/sections as required, ensuring timely and accurate supply.
• Maintain inventory records: update stock movement (inward, outward, transfers), returns, adjustments.
• Conduct regular physical counts / cycle counts, reconcile records, report discrepancies.
• Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving, excess or obsolete items; assist in reporting.
• Ensure the storeroom / warehouse / back-store area is kept clean, safe, well organised, and in compliance with health & safety/regulatory standards.
• Support loss-prevention: check for damaged goods, theft, expiry, ensure stock is secured properly.
• Coordinate with purchasing/procurement, store operations or logistics teams as required.
• Operate basic stock/inventory software or ERP modules; maintain documentation and store reports as required.
