As a candidate for the position, you are expected to have a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.), Sports Science, or a related field. Additionally, a Master's Degree (M.P.Ed.) in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a relevant discipline is often preferred. Possessing professional certifications in Coaching, Sports Management, or Fitness Training from recognized institutions would be advantageous, along with First Aid and CPR certification, especially for roles involving athlete training. Ideally, you should have 1-3 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or physical education. Experience in organizing sports events and training programs, as well as familiarity with university-level sports competitions and student engagement in athletics, would be beneficial. Your skills and competencies should include a solid understanding of sports rules, regulations, and university sports policies. You must have strong event management and organizational skills, along with the ability to train and mentor students in various sports activities. Effective communication and leadership abilities are essential, along with basic knowledge of sports facility maintenance and equipment management. Proficiency in computer applications for report preparation and scheduling is also required. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the development and implementation of university sports programs, coordinating student-athlete training and development efforts, overseeing sports facilities and equipment management, organizing sports events and tournaments, ensuring regulatory compliance and governance, promoting student engagement in sports, and providing administrative support and reporting for sports activities.
