Assistant Site Engineer – MEP

The Assistant Site Engineer (MEP) supports the planning, execution, and monitoring of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works at the project site. The role ensures MEP activities are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities1. Site Execution & Supervision

• Assist in supervising daily MEP installations (HVAC, electrical systems, fire fighting, plumbing, drainage, ELV systems, etc).
• Ensure work is executed as per approved shop drawings and project specifications.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Perform site inspections and ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures.

2. Coordination & Documentation

• Assist in preparing daily/weekly progress reports.
• Coordinate with civil teams to avoid clashes and ensure smooth workflow.
• Support in preparing Method Statements, ITPs, material submittals, and RFIs.
• Monitor material deliveries and ensure proper storage and handling at site.

3. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure installations comply with local codes, standards, and project requirements.
• Support QA/QC engineers during inspections and testing of MEP systems.
• Report non-conformities and assist in implementing corrective actions.

4. Testing, Commissioning & Handover

• Assist in testing and commissioning activities for MEP systems.
• Maintain documentation for as-built drawings and O&M manuals.
• Support handover team in closing out project requirements.

5. Health & Safety

• Ensure safety procedures are followed by workers and staff on site.
• Report any unsafe practices to the Site Engineer or Safety Officer.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or MEP Engineering.
• 1–3 years of experience in construction/MEP projects (freshers can be considered depending on company).
• Basic knowledge of MEP drawings, standards, and installation procedures.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office; knowledge of Revit is an added advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in site conditions.
