Job Description

Assistant Professor

Core Responsibilities (Shared by both roles)

Teaching & Instruction:

Deliver lectures, conduct practical demonstrations, and facilitate field visits for undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD Community Medicine) students.
Teach subjects including epidemiology, biostatistics, public health administration, demography, environmental health, nutrition, and maternal & child health.
Mentor students during rural health postings and urban health center visits.
Develop and implement curriculum as per NMC competency-based medical education (CBME) guidelines.

Field Work & Public Health Practice:

Supervise and manage activities at associated Urban Health Training Centres (UHTCs) and Rural Health Training Centres (RHTCs).
Plan, execute, and monitor public health programs, immunization drives, and disease surveillance activities in the field practice areas.
Coordinate with local health authorities and government bodies for public health initiatives.

Research & Scholarship:

Conduct epidemiological surveys, operational research, and community-based intervention studies.
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed, indexed national and international journals (e.g., those indexed in Scopus, PubMed/Medline).
Assist in writing grant proposals to secure funding for public health projects.
Guide postgraduate students in their dissertation research.
