Job Description

Assistant Professor

Core Responsibilities (Shared by both roles)

Teaching & Instruction:

Deliver lectures, conduct practical sessions, and facilitate discussions for undergraduate (MBBS, BDS) and postgraduate (MD Forensic Medicine) students.
Teach subjects including medical jurisprudence, toxicology, post-mortem examination procedures, legal procedures, ethics, and forensic pathology.
Develop curriculum content focusing on competency-based medical education (CBME) guidelines.

Medico-legal Work & Autopsy Services:

Conduct medicolegal autopsies as assigned by police and legal authorities, preparing detailed reports and evidence.
Conduct clinical forensic examinations (e.g., age estimation, injury reports, sexual assault cases) at the associated teaching hospital.
Provide expert witness testimony in courts of law regarding autopsy findings and forensic opinions.

Research & Scholarship:

Conduct research in forensic pathology, toxicology, medical ethics, or related legal medicine fields.
Publish research findings in peer-reviewed, indexed national and international journals (e.g., those indexed in Scopus, PubMed/Medline).
Guide postgraduate students in their dissertation research projects.
