Assistant Mines Manager

Purpose/Objective

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Overseeing day-to-day mining operations, including drilling, blasting, and extraction activities - Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations - Developing and implementing operational plans to optimize mining activities - Leading and supervising a team of mining personnel to achieve production targets - Conducting regular risk assessments and implementing control measures - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline mining processes - Managing budget and resources effectively to drive operational efficiency - Identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings - Preparing reports on production, safety, and environmental performance - Participating in regulatory inspections and audits. Technical Skills - Thorough understanding of mining operations and equipment - Proficiency in mine planning and scheduling software - Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in the mining industry - Experience with budgeting and cost control - Familiarity with regulatory compliance and reporting requirements. Qualifications and Experience

Essential: BE / Diploma in mining engineering or related field, master’s degree in mining management. Certification required: First Class / Second Class Mines Manager Certificate
