Role & responsibilities

Raw Materials, Critical/Key Starting Materials, Packing Materials Procurement for API Plants

• Send RFQs, prepare comparisons, Negotiations, PO releases and active follow up for all material deliveries.
• Daily PRs reviews with planning and plant team on priorities and ensure 100% OTIF for all raw materials.
• Pending Purchase orders/service order follow up, closure of old payments and regular payments to vendors.
• Fare knowledge on taxation, LC applications and close follow up with the Finance team for timely release of payments.
• Close co-ordination with plant teams (CFTs), end users, R&D for any rejections and timely support for resolving vendor related concerns/any rejections and ensuring CAPA on time.
• Should have good experience in handling General raw materials, critical RM’s, KSM’s procurements.
• Good negotiation skills, understand market dynamics and ensure the right time procurement with right price.
• Finalizing and ensuring quarterly contracts in place for all high volume’s raw materials with best cost and provide supply forecast to vendors and timely delivery of materials in plant.
• Constant feedstock monitoring for critical materials, high value materials and decide procurement strategy.
• Ensure procurement savings against budgeted RM prices
• Daily review of RM’s arrival, plant stocks and ensure sufficient stocks in plants by using vendor managed inventory (VMI)
• Highlight supply concerns, prior information to plant/CFT’s, vendor visits and ensure business priorities are met.
• Timely introduction of alternative source with cost benefit, ensure quality and service levels.
• Experience in identifying supply chain risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Knowledge of customs clearance, DGFT policies, and international procurement documentation.
• Ability to work with QA/QC teams for material approvals, specifications, and deviation handling.
• Familiarity with GMP, ICH guidelines, and documentation requirements for vendor qualification and audits.
• Material Classification Knowledge: Understanding of hazardous materials, controlled substances, and their handling requirements.
• Ensure all vendor qualification documents as per SOP and regulatory requirements
• Required product level understanding
• Understand organization goal/priorities and ensure the best procurement strategy.
• Procurement of API related packing materials procurement (HDPE drums, polythene bags etc).
• Monthly MIS reports, Market insights for important RM’s.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Qualification: -

Prefer M.Sc Chemistry/B.Tech or B.Sc Chemistry with MBA

Must Haves: -

• Good Experience in Excel and power points and SAP Experience
• Stakeholder Management and CFT/Plant team co-ordination
