Job Description

As an Assistant Manager Safety, your role involves supporting senior management in complying with all internal and external safety and environmental requirements, as well as meeting site safety, reliability, and efficiency goals while abiding by the safety policy of the organization. Your responsibilities include: - Training employees in all aspects of Process Safety Management and Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ). - Leading or supporting incident investigations. - Ensuring the achievement of safety goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as per the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Annual Plan. - Assisting senior management in monitoring statutory compliance for internal and external regulations. - Promptly escalating safety-related issues or red flags to management to prevent major accidents or incidents. - Conducting field safety inspections and audits, as well as providing guidance to address any identified gaps. - Publishing periodic reports within the target dates without the need for follow-ups. - Having hands-on experience in field activities related to safety programs such as Safety Observations (SOS), Job Safety Observations (JSO), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR), Field Safety Inspections (FSI), etc. - Establishing procedures for emergency situations, remediation activities, first-aid facilities, protective clothing, and safety equipment. - Staying informed about standards, regulations, laws, issues, and news related to product or service quality. - Ensuring evaluation and reporting on vendor quality systems. - Monitoring and reviewing internal processes, particularly those impacting product quality. - Regularly visiting locations, work sites, and field jobs to identify hazards, behavioral aspects, air risk behaviors, operational discipline, and planning and executing action plans to address them. - Introducing new thoughts and innovative ideas to achieve safety goals and motivate employees. - Leading safety initiatives in the region. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (BE/BTech) and Diploma in Industrial Safety. Industry Preferred: - Chemical / Petrochemical / Oil and Gas / Process plants / Fertilizers. Experience: - Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in safety management roles.,
