Role Overview: Assistant Manager – Procurement (Tech Innovation Group)

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Procurement with hands-on experience in electronics, electrical, and embedded systems procurement. The ideal candidate will manage the end-to-end sourcing of critical components, including LEDs, sensors, wire harnesses, optical filters, RF communication modules, antennas, batteries, and other active electronic parts.

This role requires close coordination with engineering and R&D teams to ensure cost-effective sourcing that aligns with technical and production requirements for a wide range of tech-driven projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for components such as LEDs, sensors, wire harnesses, ICs, transistors, and PCBs
• Source specialized items including optical fibres, RF modules, antennas, and batteries
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers and manufacturers
• Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and contracts to ensure optimal value and quality
• Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and production teams to understand and fulfill technical specifications
• Forecast material requirements and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock
• Ensure timely procurement aligned with project and production schedules
• Conduct regular supplier audits and performance evaluations
• Stay informed about market trends, new technologies, and component availability
• Manage import/export documentation and compliance (as applicable)
• Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, pricing, lead times, and supplier performance
• Manage procurement for mechanical fabrication, sheet metal works, precision machined parts, and custom-built enclosures, including vendor development and quality assurance for structural and protective assemblies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in electronics manufacturing, embedded systems, or automotive sectors
• Strong technical knowledge of electronic components and embedded system materials
• Excellent skills in vendor management, negotiation, and cost control
• Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software tools
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Experience in sourcing and evaluating vendors for mechanical fabrication and enclosure manufacturing (e.g., sheet metal, CNC machining, powder coating, IP-rated enclosures).
