Assistant Manager

Position Title:

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager – HR Payroll & Operations will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting the day-to-day operational activities of the organization. The role requires expertise in payroll management, compliance, operations oversight, and the ability to implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Validate salary inputs such as attendance, leave, overtime, incentives, and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations (PF, ESI, PT, TDS, Gratuity, Bonus, LWF, etc.).
• Coordinate with Finance & Accounts for salary disbursement and reconciliations.
• Handle payroll-related employee queries and provide timely resolutions.
• Generate payroll reports (headcount, CTC analysis, variance reports, MIS).
• Manage payroll audits and statutory filings while maintaining confidentiality.

Operations Management

• Monitor and manage daily operational activities across assigned functions.
• Support process improvement and automation initiatives to drive efficiency.
• Manage MIS reporting, dashboards, and operational performance tracking.

Key Skills & Competencies

• knowledge of Indian payroll compliance & taxation.
• Hands-on experience with payroll software.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential data with integrity.

Qualification & Experience

• Graduate / Postgraduate (MBA / PGDM in HR).
• 5–8 years of experience in payroll management and operations (preferably in mid/large organizations).
