Asst. General Manager - Procurement

Job Location: Corporate Office, Hyderabad

AGM

Unit 1 in Ramapuram (V), Mellachervu (M), Suryapet (D), Telangana and Unit 2 in Sreepuram, Boincheruvupalli (V), Peapully (M), Nandyal (D), Andhra Pradesh.


  • You will be responsible for performing strategic procurement activities across various spend categories, aiming to find better deals and more profitable suppliers.
  • Your expertise in supplier relationship management and negotiation skills will be crucial in ensuring cost-effective and high-quality procurement.
  • Additionally, you will analyze market trends, forecast demand, and mitigate risks to optimize the procurement process.

Role & responsibilities

1. Oversee the effective and efficient execution of the purchase activity to meet the requirement of Cement Plant.

2. Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies .

3. Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

4. Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms

5. Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation.

6. Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.

7. Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.

8. Assess, manage and mitigate risks.

9. Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers.

10. Determine quantity and timing of deliveries.

11. Preparing cost estimates and managing budgets.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Graduate in Engineering and PG Diploma in Material management.
  • Minimum 20 years of purchase experience in Cement Manufacturing industries
  • Aged between 40 to 50 years.
  • Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
  • Proven working experience as Purchasing Manager in major Cement Plant.
  • Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
  • Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
  • A knack for negotiation and networking
  • Working experience of vendor management software
  • Ability to gather and analyse data and to work with figures.
  • Solid judgement along with decision making skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Supervisory and management experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
