Assistant Engineer - Tunnels, Tunnels & Underground Structures, REC

As an Assistant Engineer on our team, you'll have the opportunity to constantly be exposed to our experts/ industry leaders in the field of tunnel engineering and to major international infrastructure projects, such as the Stockholm Metro Yellow Line, and other major projects in the Nordics region. We continuously aim to remain at the forefront of technology and create innovative solutions to tackle our challenges. We are led by technical experts who will provide guidance and support as you grow in your role.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

• Support tunnel design in line with international standards (Eurocodes & others).
• Coordinating and overseeing drawing production and performing QA of drawings prepared by our CAD/BIM team.
• Collaborate with colleagues across our global Tunnels group.
• Learn to keep track of your work and deliverables within the scheduled timelines.  

We are looking for self-motivated team members who meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Master’s in Tunnelling, Rock Engineering, or Underground Structures is a plus.
• Interest/ Initial experience (0-4 years) in tunnel design methods (e.g. TBM, NATM, micro-tunnelling).
• Curiosity about underground construction methods and sequencing.
• Eagerness to learn design software (Plaxis, RS2, LUSAS, Sofistik, etc.), some working knowledge of at least one of these.
• Strong English language communication skills.
