Role Overview
The
Assistant Coaches
will support the technical delivery of the
AIFF-FIFA-Telangana Talent Academy
program in Hyderabad, contributing to the holistic development of elite youth footballers under the
FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS)
. Working closely with the FIFA Talent Coach and multidisciplinary staff, they will be responsible for implementing age-appropriate training plans, match preparations, and individual development pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Session Delivery
- Assist the Lead Coach in planning and conducting daily training sessions based on AIFF’s curriculum and development philosophy.
- Provide individual coaching support to players during training and outside sessions.
- Matchday Support
- Help plan and execute tactical and physical preparation for training matches, friendly games, and official fixtures.
- Support in warm-ups, player feedback, substitutions, and post-match debriefs.
- Player Development & Mentoring
- Maintain and monitor Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for each player.
- Offer feedback using video analysis and regular technical-tactical evaluations.
- Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Liaise with physiotherapists, performance analysts, and team managers to ensure alignment in player management.
- Support the safeguarding and welfare of players both on and off the pitch.
- Reporting & Administration
- Maintain attendance logs, training reports, and progress updates as per academy protocols.
- Participate in internal coaching discussions, staff meetings, and continuous learning activities.
- Safeguarding & Conduct
- Uphold AIFF’s safeguarding standards, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment, particularly for minors.
- Act as a role model for discipline, professionalism, and respectful behavior.
Essential
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid AFC ‘B’ License or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of coaching experience, preferably with youth teams or in an academy setting
- Sound understanding of modern football tactics, training periodization, and player psychology
- Effective communication and mentoring skills
- Availability for a full-time residential role
Preferred
- Experience working with national academies, youth development centers, or elite club setups
- Familiarity with AIFF’s curriculum or FIFA TDS principles
- Basic working knowledge of analysis and performance monitoring tools
- Fluency in English and Hindi (Telugu will be an added advantage)
