Assistant Manager Accounts & Finance

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Management

  • Oversee and maintain accurate books of accounts for all school units under the group.
  • Ensure timely posting of journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger scrutiny.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and receivables.
  • Assist in fund allocation and utilization tracking across branches.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts for schools and departments.
  • Monitor budgetary variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support management in cost optimization and financial planning.

3. Audit & Compliance

  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including GST, TDS, PF, ESI, and Income Tax.
  • Maintain proper documentation and ensure timely submission of returns and reports.

4. MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly MIS reports and financial dashboards for management review.
  • Analyze financial data and present insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Maintain transparency and accountability in reporting across departments.

5. Process Improvement

  • Implement best practices and internal control systems to strengthen financial operations.
  • Streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency through automation and ERP tools.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements, vendor accounts, and inter-branch transactions.

6. Team Coordination

  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Liaise with various departments and school units for financial coordination and data collection.
  • Support the Finance Head in special projects and audits as required.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in

    Tally ERP / SAP / Zoho Books

    or similar accounting software.
  • Advanced MS Excel and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, integrity, and a results-driven mindset.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Qualification:

    MBA (Finance)
  • Experience:

    Minimum

    5–7 years

    of experience in Accounts and Finance (preferably in an educational institution or corporate setup).
