Assembly Engineer

As a Sr. Engineer or Assistant Manager in the Assembly department, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) along with relevant experience to be considered eligible for this role. Sr. Engineers are required to have a minimum of 4 years of experience, whereas Assistant Managers should possess at least 6 years of experience. Candidates applying for this position must have prior experience in handling teams and working with CNC, VMC, and HMC machinery assembly. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) within acceptable limits during assembly processes. It is crucial to adhere to assembly quality plans at each stage to prevent customer complaints effectively. Troubleshooting electrical assembly-related technical issues should be done promptly to ensure smooth production flow. You are expected to develop a thorough understanding of the complete assembly process and assemble machines as per specific requirements. Timely availability of materials with the right quality and quantity is essential for successful assembly operations. Your role also involves demonstrating cycle time reduction strategies in assembly processes and overseeing the packing and dispatch of machines and accessories to avoid any mismatch or shortages. You will be responsible for preparing work instructions for assembly processes and ensuring that Corrective/Preventive Actions (CA/PA) are in place for addressing complaints effectively. Maintaining adherence to Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and acquiring basic knowledge of Painting, Mechanical, and ISO requirements are also part of your responsibilities. Strict compliance with Business Excellence processes is expected from you. Identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing error-proofing techniques through Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) are critical aspects of this role. Collaboration with the Assembly IE team to drive automation and process enhancements is essential. Staying updated on the latest assembly technologies and tools and incorporating them into the operations is crucial for this position.
