About the Role

We are hiring a full-time AI Engineer to help build the MVP of this platform. You’ll work directly with the founder to architect, implement, and iterate a therapist-configured reflection engine using large language models. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience building with LLM APIs, understands human-in-the-loop principles, and is comfortable designing secure, testable features within a lean startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI-generated response systems aligned with clinician-configured tone and therapeutic modality
• Implement asynchronous journaling workflows using LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) with memory/context integration
• Build configurable prompt-response frameworks and safety filters
• Collaborate directly with the founder to iterate toward a clinically-usable MVP
• Contribute to backend infrastructure with a focus on security and mobile-first design

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with LLMs, NLP pipelines, and prompt engineering
• Proficiency in Python and modern tooling (LangChain, vector databases, lightweight agents)
• Experience with memory/context tracking, embeddings, and conversational systems
• Understanding of responsible AI and user safety in high-sensitivity applications
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote, async-first environment

Nice to Have

• Experience with behavioral health, coaching, or journaling products
• Familiarity with therapeutic models (CBT, ACT, DBT)
• Experience with Flutter, Firebase, or mobile application integration
• Exposure to emotion detection or intent classification systems
