Area Service Engineer

Role & responsibilities

1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting -

• Provide real-time remote and onsite technical support for HHP engines. Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, fuel system, emissions, and control system issues.
• Interpret engine electronic control unit (ECU) data, fault codes, and performance logs.
• Recommend corrective actions, repair procedures, and component replacements.

2. Field Service & Maintenance

• Support the commissioning, installation, and startup of new HHP engines and generator sets.
• Perform or guide major engine overhauls, top-end inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Verify compliance with OEM maintenance schedules, service bulletins, and warranty guidelines.
• Conduct on-site performance testing, calibration, and validation.

3. Failure Analysis & Reporting

• Investigate engine failures, identify root causes, and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to resolve recurring issues and design improvements.
• Document findings with photos, data logs, and recommended corrective actions.

4. Technical Documentation

• Develop and maintain technical manuals, troubleshooting guides, and service procedures.
• Review and implement OEM updates such as Service Bulletins (SBs) and Product Improvement Programs (PIPs).
• Ensure accurate entry of all service data into maintenance management systems (CMMS).

5. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with environmental, emissions, and regulatory standards.
• Follow all safety protocols during field service activities, including LOTO and high-horsepower equipment safety.
