Key Responsibilities
Manage relationships with government departments, CPWD/State PWD officials, and public-sector
contractors
Achieve sales and collection targets through deep engagement with public project influencers
Drive demand generation by getting Orient Bell products specified in government BOQs and project
documents
Build a network of contractors and architects involved in public infrastructure work
Navigate complex government procurement cycles and secure approvals through dealers and intermediaries
Track tenders, pre-bid stages, and site-level updates to influence decision-makers early
Ensure commercial hygiene by avoiding wafer-thin margin deals and focusing on profitable sales
Provide regular updates on funnel movement, deal risks, and competitive intelligence
Must have Domain Skills
1. B2G Sales
Demonstrated experience in managing government sales, including approvals, documentation, and working
with intermediaries such as dealers and contractors. Must understand the nuances of public procurement,
including informal negotiation channels and timeline management.
Must have Soft Skills
2. Interpersonal Skills
Ability to build high-trust relationships with bureaucrats, site engineers, architects, PMCs, retail dealers,
internal BD team and contractors. Shows emotional intelligence and adaptability in varied government
environments.
3. Negotiation Skills
Skilled in navigating multi-layered commercial discussions involving value, specification control, and
pricing sensitivityespecially within bureaucratic frameworks.
4. Entrepreneurial Mindset
Understands when to pursue high-volume deals vs. walk away from low-margin orders. Proactively
identifies influencers, avoids over-discounting, and seeks commercially viable outcomes.
5. Persuasiveness
Ability to gain approvals and drive specifications by influencing stakeholders at multiple levels, often in
informal or non-linear decision chains.
Good to Have Skills
1. Knowledge of e-tender platforms and government procurement portals
2. Familiarity with BOQ-based pricing and tender participation through channel partners
